What can we be joyful for when we are persecuted for righteousness? Where does our focus lie at all times, as well as when we are persecuted for righteousness? Does persecution for righteousness always come from the world?......

We don't look for persecution, but so often it always finds us.  What is our response in the midst of this persecution.  What can we expect to be persecuted for?......

A great mark of being a Christ follower is to be a peacemaker.  What are the steps to being a peacemaker, and how can we accomplish that in our lives, even during a pandemic.......

What we are in our heart, is what we really are!  What does it mean to "see" God?  What does it mean to be "pure" in heart, and how are these two things bound together?......

We live in a very angry world.  Anger produces anger, and does not produce the life that God desires.  Being merciful will bring us mercy, as well as produce true happiness in our lives.  We CAN treat others as we have been treated by God......

Here's another oxymoron - a seeming contradiction.  Can we really "be happy" if we are "hungry"?  The secret is in our focus - what we are hungry for!!!  Jesus "Sermon on the Mount" gives us the needed focus for a happy and fulfilled life......

What do you think of when you hear the word meek? Timid, Shy, Gentle? Actually, Webster's defines it as: enduring injury with patience and without resentment. There is a lot Jesus teaches us here with this beatitude on how He wants to re-shape both our minds and hearts.......

When we talk about mourning, what is it that we mourn about?  Is there purpose in things that we suffer from?  How can we really be "happy mourners"?......

In a culture known for oxymorons, like Jumbo Shrimp, it doesn't quite make sense when Jesus says Blessed are those who mourn. How can you be happy when your mourning / beeing sad? As we begin this 2 part sermon we will begin to unravel the kind of empathy Jesus is calling us to......
